Signs point towards getting a bike

So I had to go drop off some transfer student paperwork at my new University today and it is without a doubt one of the worst parking situations I’ve seen. I had to drive around countless parking lots trying to find a single spot. Basically it sucks many eggs. There’s spots reserved for motorcycles pretty much as close to the buildings as possible which is perfect for if I’m late to class. Alsoooo a semester long campus parking pass for a car is $236, compared to $108 for a bike. Not really sure there’s any downside here. Tomahawk for your time

$236/semester isn’t too bad, it’s $795/yr for a permit to park on my alma mater’s campus.

I’m in the same boat. My VW gets bought back in a week, and I want a bike again. Kinda regret selling my WR250R. What bikes have you been looking at?

Seriously? That’s ridiculous. The community college I’m at right now is only $15 a semester so it’s kind of sticker shock for me.

For real, I mean I did go to Georgia Tech which is in metro Atlanta and they do it to discourage students from having cars, but still, it’s a lot. My parents were like yeah, you’re not getting a car at school.

Probably a Ninja 250 or something in the Sport Touring category. Not really sure yet, depends on how far I’ll be living from campus once I start there.

Huh, never knew GT was in Atlanta, TIL. Yeah that makes sense being where it is, but still, $795 is more than the cost of some of the student’s cars I’m sure.

Well, one of my roommates had a 2001 Grand Am GT, I certainly wouldn’t pay more than $795 for one.

Keep in mind you will need a helmet jacket, gloves, maybe pants and possibly boots for that. plus the purschese cost of a bike. then again, fuel savings

Yeah I know, this is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, just another set of reasons why I finally should. Traffic is pretty bad around here so being able to avoid that is another big plus.
